How to Clean a Grey, Weathered Deck
B-Brite Deck Wood Cleaner is a chlorine-free Oxy powder that restores the look of weathered wood, with results in as little as 10 minutes. Use it on decks, railings, fences, siding and shingles, and before sealing or staining.
What you need
- B-Brite Deck Wood Cleaner (454 g / 1 lb canister)
- Warm water and a bucket
- A sprayer or watering can, mop or roller
- A stiff-bristle brush
- A hose or pressure washer
- Gloves and eye protection
Steps
- Mix: pour the full canister into 11.34 L (3 US gal) of warm water. Stir until fully dissolved. Use within 1 hour.
- Prep: clear away dirt, wet the surface and cover nearby plants.
- Apply with a brush, mop, sprayer or roller.
- Wait 5–10 minutes. Keep the surface damp; don’t let it dry.
- Scrub with a stiff brush, working outward or upward.
- Rinse with a hose or pressure washer until no residue remains.
Always test on a hidden area first.

- Above 30°C (86°F)
- Mixed with other chemicals
Safety
Caution: irritant. Wear gloves and goggles. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
First aid: Eyes: rinse with water for 15 minutes. Skin: wash thoroughly with water. If swallowed: do not induce vomiting; drink water and call a doctor or poison control.
